Does Your Dog/Bitch Require an Eye Test?
The ISDS requires eye tests for two types of eye diseases - Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) and Central Progressive Retinal Atrophy (CPRA or PRA). Dogs/bitches requiring these two tests are:
* All trial dogs and bitches over three years of age; and
* All dogs and bitches
over two years of age that are used for breeding purposes.
Dogs/bitches UNDER the age of two years that are used for breeding purposes must pass the opthalmic test for CEA. If you have DNA CEA Normal results, and one or both parents is/are under two
years old, the ophthalmic test for CEA is waived.
